A Certain Kind of Light by Kieran Castaña

Mills Gallery is pleased to present a solo exhibition of portrait works from Kieran Castaño. “A Certain Kind of Light” will run from January 10, 2020 – January 31, 2020. A portion of the profits will be donated to the Zebra Coalition.

Castaño’s work explores the makeup of identity through pointillist representations of trans individuals. His goal is always trans visibility. “In my work, I use color as light to shine on Trans subject and related themes. To me, color used as light represents wisdom, truth and self-love gained from our unique journeys to find and know our true selves. I use pointillism to bring out the authenticity of every color within ourselves.”.

This show draws eyes to the “too controversial” existence of trans bodies, allowing viewers to bypass, literally, the curtains of censorship and take a peek at what so many find curious.

Mills Gallery and Artist Kieran Castaño want to thank the Orlando Weekly for making this show the cover and feature story for their Jan. 15-21 issue.

This show will also draw eyes to the “too controversial” existence of trans bodies, allowing viewers to bypass the curtain of censorship and take a peek what so many find curious.
