Boris Douglas Garbe

Boris Douglas Garbe was born in Germany, spent his childhood in Nicaragua, and relocated with his family to Winter Park in 1979. After attending schools in Central Florida and Vermont, he began a 15-year career as a Spanish and sign language teacher at a private school in Maitland. He and his students worked closely with Koko, the world famous signing gorilla; and in 2000 they were the first school to carry on an interspecies Communications exchange between Koko and hearing children in the state of Florida.

More About Boris

After teaching, Boris went on to become a Realtor for several years before he began his career in the art world in 2014. In just five years he has become the curator of the successful Mills Gallery. Garbe also worked with the Timucua Arts Foundation as their Visual Arts Chair until 2018. Boris and artist Marla E are the cohosts of PFT Media’s podcast KISS MY ART. Boris and Marla also produce the Hit Podcasts What A day Kids and Tenor and Toneless Boris has been the guest on popular radio shows and podcasts, and has been featured in numerous media outlets. Most recently, his work with abstract expressionist artist Harold Garde has garnered a great deal of attention.

Jennifer Coolidge

Jennifer has been an arts and non-profit consultant, fundraiser, art educator, and curator working with artists and non-profit arts and social service organizations. Selected clients have included: The Center for Human Rights and Civil Liberties at University of Southern Mississippi, Hattiesburg, MS; Dance Alive National Ballet, Gainesville, FL; Asheville Area Arts Council, Asheville, NC; Studio 41, LLC, representing artist, Harold Garde; Matthew 25:40 in Guatemala; Rochester Contemporary Art Center, Rochester, NY; The National League of American Pen Woman, Washington, D.C., among others.

Past Positions include Director of Development for the University of Florida, College of the Arts; Executive Director for the Museum of Florida Art; Executive Director for the Florida Alliance for Art Education and with Atlantic Center for the Arts; Southeastern Center for Contemporary Art and The Arts Council in Winston Salem, NC.

 

Her current board service: Florida Cultural Alliance, Florida – Wakayama, Japan Cultural Association, Florida Alliance for Arts Education. Past board service: Florida House in Washington, D.C.; Florida Art Education Association, Volusia County Cultural Alliance, Florida Music Education Association, and others. Coolidge has received numerous awards for her leadership in the arts with a Distinguished Service Award from the Florida Music Educators Association and was recognized as a Florida Ambassador of the Arts by past First Lady of Florida, Columba Bush.

 

Coolidge graduated from Guilford College in Greensboro, NC with a concentration in painting and holds a Certificate in Social Entrepreneurship from H. Heinz II School of Public Policy and Management at Carnegie Mellon University and completed the Denali Initiative on Social Enterprise Fellowship through the Kauffman Center for Entrepreneurial Leadership.
