THE SCREAM OF MIROSLAV
From January 29th to February 26th
At Mills Gallery, The Scream of Miroslav is not a metaphor; it is a rupture. Born in silence and forged through exile, this exhibition marks the first major presentation in the United States of Cuban artist Miroslav de la Torre Kozorez, whose paintings emerge from a life where speaking freely was not permitted, and expression carried consequences.
In Cuba, his voice was constrained. In freedom, it has begun to surface, urgent, raw, and unfinished. This exhibition is both a reckoning and a beginning. It asks what it means to reclaim one’s voice after silence, and what responsibility comes with finally being heard.
This exhibition is a collaboration with curator Rafael Hernandez and Mills Gallery.
